Kendra J. Choinski is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over a decade of experience in healthcare. She began her nursing career in 2011 after graduating from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, and worked primarily in emergency medicine in Buffalo, NY. During this time, she developed a strong foundation in acute care, crisis response, and patient advocacy.
Throughout the last fourteen years, Kendra observed firsthand the fragmented approach to care, with mental and physical health often treated separately and a notable lack of mental health resources to support patients effectively. This realization sparked a deep interest in psychiatry and inspired her to pursue advanced training in mental health, with the goal of closing those gaps and helping bridge the divide between medical and psychiatric care.
Kendra earned her Master of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher University in 2024. She provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive care for adults aged 18 and older, offering both in-person and telehealth services to ensure accessible, flexible treatment options.
Her clinical approach is holistic, evidence-based, and trauma-informed, with a focus on mood and anxiety disorders, stress-related conditions, and the mind-body connection. Kendra is committed to reducing stigma, promoting resilience, and creating a safe, welcoming space for healing and growth.
Kendra is currently accepting Self Pay clients as well as theses insurances:
Aetna, Cigna, Carelon, Highmark BCBS of WNY, Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern NY and Quest Behavorial Health
